Toei Animation is thrilled to announce that Magic Candies has been nominated for an Oscar in the Best Short Film category.
Directed by Daisuke Nishio (known for his work on Dragon Ball Z series) and produced by Takashi Washio (producer of Pretty Cure Series), this beautifully animated short film is based on the picture book “Amedama” by South Korean author Baek Hee-na, who also wrote the film’s screenplay. This nomination confirms the creativity and talent of the team behind Magic Candies.
The 97th Oscars award ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
